Research interests
My current primary research interests focus on the understanding of eye diseases like glaucoma or macular degeneration, in particular
- the relationship between retinal structure and visual function,
- the development of novel diagnostic methods using bioinformatics and statistical learning,
- the prediction (prognosis) of disease progression in the future,
- the association between retinal parameters and age and life style related diseases.
Apart from that, I have been working on all areas of vision science, such as
- temporal aspects of visual processing,
- face recognition,
- optimal adaptive sequential sampling,
- display technology.
